Volunteers Week 2024

Volunteer Week is a celebration of the incredible contribution volunteers make to communities across the UK.

The celebration begins every year on the first Monday of June. This is a great opportunity to recognise, celebrate and thank the incredible UK Volunteers for all they do for our local communities, the volunteer sector and the wider community.

What happens during Volunteer Week?

From open days to festive events, hundreds of online and offline events take place every year across the UK to mark Volunteer Week and welcome volunteers.

This year's Volunteer Week will end with a large-scale action "The Big Help Out" from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 June, where people across the UK will be able to take part in various volunteer workshops.

Volunteer Week was started in 1984 by an organisation then called Volunteering England.
